Woodlake Country Club - History

Woodlake Country Club is owned and operated by Matrix Golf & Hospitality and is located in Northern Ocean County, NJ, while also being just minutes from the Monmouth County border.   Woodlake is the area's most affordable semi private golf & country club featuring The Tartan Grille, ballrooms that can accommodate 500+ guests, a championship par 72 golf course, outdoor swimming pool complex, practice putting and chipping greens, and a warm up driving range.   The golf club is the best value in the area, bar none.

The golf course features a traditional layout in a park-like setting.   Built in 1972 by Edward Lawrence Packard,  Woodlake's golf course was selected runner-up as the best golf course in both Ocean and Monmouth Counties by readers of The Asbury Park Press.    Often referred to as "The Hidden Gem at the Jersey Shore", the course continues to draw rave reviews.

In addition to an elegant clubhouse and award-winning golf course, Woodlake Country Club features a variety of membership plans with exceptional value and benefits.   The members enjoy the ability to make advance tee times, no greens fees, and a active slate of tournaments and social events.   All membership plans feature no initiation fees, no assessments and no monthly minimums.   The Individual membership provides an opportunity to add family members enabling every member of the family to enjoy a true country club setting with a wealth of amenities.   Children have the opportunity to participate in various programs at Woodlake.    Private lessons for golf with our PGA Professionals and swimming are available and can be scheduled on the premises.

This semi private country club is conveniently located just minutes from the Garden State Parkway exits 90 & 91, and a short distance from the sandy beaches of the Jersey Shore.    This makes Woodlake accessable from to golfers from Ocean and Monmouth counties, but also drawing members from the crowded courses of Northern NJ and Staten Island, NY.    Access to the club is also easily attainable from the New Jersey Turnpike, as well as New York City and/or Philadelphia.

Woodlake has quickly become the place for weddings and special occasions.   Our newly completed wedding ceremony area makes a wonderful setting with golf course and pool views.   The club's Augusta Ballroom has become the centerpiece of the 35,000 square foot clubhouse.   The room provides a traditional country club warmth with rich cherry woods, French doors and windows; all providing the perfect setting for a truly memorable occasion.   For the smaller special event, the Club Room is located off of the pool with warm, elegant décor and large doors leading to the pool deck.   Woodlake proudly hosts weddings, bar/bat mitzvahs, golf outings, meetings & seminars or special social events.   A variety of catering packages are available by calling the Catering Sales office at (732) 367-4500.
